Crockrell receives Chris Moffitt Scholarship

A Washington student was recently chosen to receive the Chris Moffitt Scholarship to attend Beaufort County Community College this spring.

Amanda Woolard Crockrell, 29, a student in BCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program, has been chosen for the award. After completing her studies at BCCC, Crockrell hopes to continue her studies and transfer to East Carolina University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Crockrell is a graduate of Northside High School.

She is the daughter of Marty and Patricia Woolard of Washington. She has one child.

“Thank you for making the Chris Moffitt Scholarship possible,” she said. “It truly helps in making my dream of becoming a nurse possible.”

Established in 1999 by friends and family in memory of Chris Moffitt, this fund makes an annual award to a full-time student enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program based on academic standing. Chris Moffitt was a graduate of BCCC’s ADN program.
