Shannon Pake, a student in
the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Beaufort County Community College, has
been awarded the Washington Women’s Club Scholarship to attend BCCC this fall.

Pake, 35, of Washington is a student in BCCC’s Associate
Degree Nursing Program. A graduate of Washington High School, she plans to work
as a registered nurse while pursuing a bachelor’s degree after graduating from
BCCC. She and her husband, Spencer, have three children.
“I want to thank the
Washington Women’s Club for their generosity in providing students with the
opportunity to pursue their dreams,” she said. “For as long as I can remember,
I have wanted to be a nurse.”
The scholarship is awarded
through the Washington Woman’s Club Endowment, established in 1999. The fund
provides an annual scholarship to a second year nursing student living in Beaufort County . Recipients must have a 3.5 grade
point average or better and be willing to work in Beaufort County
for one year after they graduate from the nursing program.
