Jackson
Lancaster, president of the Beaufort County Community College Student
Government Association, has received a scholarship to attend BCCC awarded from
an endowment established by a former president of the college.
Lancaster, 19,
of Washington, is a student in BCCC’s Business Administration Program. A 2014
graduate of the Beaufort County Early College High School, Lancaster holds an
associate in arts degree from BCCC. He is a licensed realtor with Coldwell
Banker Coastal Rivers Realty. At BCCC, Lancaster is a member of the Gamma Beta
Phi Honor Society and a college Ambassador. He also serves as an ex-officio
member of the BCCC Board of Trustees. After graduating from BCCC he plans to
continue his education while building a successful career in real estate.
Lancaster is the son of Terry and Louann Lancaster of Washington.

“I am truly grateful to Dr. McLawhorn for making this
scholarship possible for me,” he said. “It is much appreciated and will be used
wisely to help me in continuing my education.”
The McLawhorn President’s Fund Scholarship was established
in 2005 from a donation given to the BCCC Foundation by then-college President
David McLawhorn in honor of the college’s 40th anniversary and as an
encouragement to other BCCC faculty and staff, as well as former college
presidents, to donate to the Foundation.
